Every Day Colours

 Two seasonally analysed Springs!

Dear friends. I'm back after a brief blogging hiatus, and full of inspiration for new posts. Join me again for topics including: toned arms for sleeveless tops, best trends from the fashion shows, more book reviews and more beauty products with honest reviews.

Today I'm sharing a few of my every day outfits. Now that Spring seems to have arrived my thoughts turn even more to the bright colours that suit me best.

I've been making an effort to wear a "proper" outfit each day, rather than staying in gym or walking clothes.

First up is the outfit I wore for a colour club meet-up at a new venue, the Grange Cafe at the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People at Saunderton, near Princes Risborough.  It was about a 60 mile drive each way but I didn't mind: a car drive is very enjoyable in lovely weather, and the roads were quiet.

I'd decided earlier in the week to wear my preloved Lime Chloe jacket (eBay) and searched online for a lime scarf to go with it.  The scarf I'm wearing was reduced to £5 from The Scarf Giraffe and received a lot of compliments.

Originally I thought it had spring pink tones but they turned out to be more orangey, so I wore a KW Apricot top underneath. My skirt is the Light Birch denim skirt from KW.  I prefer shorter skirts but this one has the advantage of making me appear taller.  I only wear it with a short heel, not flats, as that throws the proportions out.  My gold boots were a buy last year from Oliver Bonas. Bag in kelly green from Pom Pom London.

Top pic shows me with Elaine Osborne, a fellow Spring in seasonal colour analysis.

One of the best things about warmer weather is that I can wear one of my colourful jackets, rather than a puffer or rain coat.  Below: I'm wearing the fleecy KW Erin jacket in Bluebird, over a short sleeved Becca sweater in Emerald Turquoise.  I'm unapologetic about wearing jeggings! I still like them, don't care what the fashion police say.  I'm also still wearing heavy duty boots at the moment because the forest still has quite a lot of mud.

Out for a walk in Epping Forest: Is This Mutton's Gail Hanlon

It was even warmer for the Epping Forest walk we did on Sunday. This time I wore my Chloe jacket in Blue Jewel over a striped Breton. I've been mulling over my big collection of KW tops and wondering why I don't wear some of the styles.  My conclusion is that I prefer a boat neck or crew neckline and  less form fitting fabrics. Stripes are great for every day casual.

The tops I don't wear tend to be the scoops or wider Vs, plus the double fronted tops with sleeves.  These were excellent when I was working but now they're a little too formal looking, to my mind. I'll be selling a few tops on the Kettlewell Reloved site on Facebook.

Last year I didn't wear my sleeveless tops in the summer. I hadn't put the work in so my arms looked too flabby and crepey. But this year is "Project Arms" and I'll be writing about it shortly.

Some women of our vintage are confident enough to wear sleeveless tops without worrying about their arms. I'm not one of them. Yes we're getting older, but my view is that if something is fixable without being too difficult, why not treat it as a challenge and tackle it?

Today I'm working on the blog and running a few errands. I'm wearing two preloved items, coffee Roxy jacket (via eBay) and KW Ziggy jacket in honey (via Facebook). A crystal necklace sharpens up the look.  Honey was a surprise wow colour for me the lovely Amanda Richardson identified my 10 wow colours last year.
