Full Skirts

 #StyleNotAgeChallenge

Is This Mutton blogger Gail Hanlon in red and black full skirt for the latest Style Not Age challenge.

Dear friends.  Four blogger friends and I am back with the latest Style Not Age challenge.  This month it was the turn of Jacqui from Mummabstylish to set the prompt, and she chose Full Skirts.

Regular readers will know I often wear skirts, but I don't have a full skirt.  In fact I was a little flummoxed as to what this was.  Google tells me it's a skirt with fullness gathered into the waistband which fits through the waistline and flares at the hem.

As I am buying a lot more "pre-loved" (second hand) clothing, I decided to look out for a full skirt in a charity shop when I went to Plymouth recently.

I was very lucky - this skirt, which has a pretty black and red overlay, was just £3.25, along with a red necklace, in the Woodside Animal Rescue shop in Colebrook.  It's by the brand Apricot.

I'm wearing it with black lace tights for more texture, and from my wardrobe gold ankle boots (old, Oliver Bonas) and a black top by Damsel in a Dress. The cute bag is by Dune.  If you're wondering if I might be cold wearing this, I would add a red wrap (Kettlewell) if I was wearing it outdoors, plus a coat.

The weather has been atrocious the last few days, with very fierce winds  (Storm Bert), rain and changing temperatures.  So we were driven indoors to take our pictures. Let's see how my style friends got on.

Anna from Anna's Island Style had a few attempts at styling this spectacular yellow skirt. She says everything is second hand from Vinted.   I will be soon writing a post about buying second hand - love to hear your thoughts and experiences with the various sites, as buyer or seller, in the comments.

Irish blogger Hilda from Over the Hilda borrowed her dramatic black skirt from local boutique Paula's in Malahide.  She shopped her wardrobe for the rest of the outfit. I believe I had the same jumper, which has a fine gold thread.  I sold it, but wish I hadn't now!

Jacqui from Mummabstylish, who selected this prompt, says she's now not sure this style is for her.  Skirt & top from F&F, jacket old from Matalan, shoes from Lotus Shoes and bag from Oasis. The skirt may be going back.

Emma from Stylesplash is wearing a beautiful skirt is by Joanna Hope (from a previous collaboration), top from River Island and boots from Vivaia.

I hope you enjoyed our different takes on Full Skirts.  If you're a fan of this style, do let us know in the comments.  Plus let me know which second hand sites you like, as a buyer or seller (or both).

Sharing my posts with these fantastic sites.
