Essential Striped Knitted Dress

 And Wow on Wednesday

Gifted Fashion

Gail Hanlon from Is This Mutton in a flattering knitted striped dress from Damart

Dear friends.  A striped knitted dress is your best friend, when you find the right one.  That's an important caveat, because they're often a fine, clingy knit that highlights the lumps and bumps.  I don't know about you, but I've got to an age now where I refuse to wear "control pants."

I'm glad to say I've found the perfect striped knitted dress, and it's from Damart.

Surprised?  My old perception of this brand was thermal underwear, but this is very outdated. Their range includes knitwear, nightwear, dresses, coats, trousers and skirts. Plus the chill reducing pieces we associate with this long established brand, set up in 1953.

I knew the navy and white striped dress was a winner as soon as I saw it out of the bag, because it's made of a wool blend that doesn't cling.  The composition is 63% Polyester, (50% Recycled), 23% Acrylic, 10% Wool, 4% Elastane.

Navy blue and white with red is the colour theme for Is This Mutton's styling of a knitted striped dress

I love the gold tone buttons on the shoulder and the high neckline.  Worn with a coat this will see us through the coldest winter days!

The other good thing is the price - £44.99.  At the moment I notice Damart have a 20% promotion with free shipping.

I'm wearing the size 10/12.  Here I added my red coat (pre-loved, originally Coast).  I love red with navy. My tights are 60 denier from Aristoc (gifted), necklace, old, from Eternal Collection, belt, old, Kettlewell, and boots, old, from Lotus.

WOW ON WEDNESDAY

It's Wednesday and we're all looking to be wowed at this halfway point of the month!  Bloggers from all over the world are adding their posts to this week's link-up.  I'd urge you to check them out and leave a comment or two.  Blogging is a lonely pastime but comments make us smile.

Last Week's Favourites

A good many of you read the last blog post from the popular Vronni's Style Meanderings. I'm very sad to see Veronica ending her blogging. I loved seeing her stylish outfits with thrifted clothes, and sharing her life, walks and exhibitions. All the best to you Vronni.

(K)Not to Brag: It's a Winner from Rena at Fine Whatever.

  1. Damart. In 1983 I passed my driving test and mum gave me a pr of navy driving gloves. I still have them and use them, 40+ years on.
Perfect sweater dress. You’ve found it!
    Shapewear. Totally agree.
Vronni. Will miss her but bet she’ll be back sometime.

  4. I love a good knit dress, but this one looks like a exceptional good one! I love navy white stripes, and when there are golden buttons involved it's a total winner for me!
