Dear friends. I'm thrilled today to feature the latest book from O J Mullen. I'm a big fan of his gritty and tightly plotted crime thrillers. This one is in the unusual setting for this genre of an ad agency. It's my stop on the blog tour for The Wrong Woman.
Publisher's Description
Julia Sutherland isn’t too sure about her new colleague. Ellis Kirkbride is friendly, charismatic and handsome, but there’s just something about him – a bit too slick, a bit too confident, and he stands a bit too close. Normally she'd share her concerns with her husband Rob, but he’s been distant lately and Julia has a secret he mustn’t find out.
Ellis Kirkbride thought he had found the right woman. She was everything he could want but she didn't want him. And that was unacceptable.
In a tale of twisted love and chilling revenge, bestseller O.J. Mullen will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. Perfect for fans of K. L Slater, Claire Douglas and Sue Watson.
My Thoughts
Having read and enjoyed Mullen's last novel Three Sisters, I was eager to get my hands on this. It didn’t disappoint. Set somewhat surprisingly in a small Glasgow ad agency - unlikely because it's an unusual setting for a crime thriller - the capable and hard working senior account manager Julia Sutherland is not happy when new colleague Ellis Kirkbride is foist on her.
Ellis, however, is captivated by Julia and doesn’t care that she’s happily married. There’s just one problem: Julia doesn’t feel the same way. Ellis doesn't take rejection well. Nicely drawn characters, an ingenious form of revenge and gripping last few chapters had me hooked. Mullen has a pacey, gritty style which puts him in the top tier of thriller writers.
