And Wow on Wednesday
Dear friends. A simple cream shift dress today, a great choice for those days when you don't want to be particularly colourful. I wanted the pretty vetch in a nearby park to take centre stage,
The dress was an amazing charity shop bargain. It cost just £5 in a shop in Wimbledon last year. I haven't worn it much but pledged to give it a twirl at Gunpowder Park, Waltham Abbey.
We often cycle through this park, which is reclaimed land and full of natural beauty. I noticed how lovely the vetch was looking, in white and purple, and decided to return with the camera.
The dress has no label and appears to be hand made. I'm adding a pop of colour with a pre-loved scarf, gold sequin bag, old from Moda in Pelle, and green velvet embellished shoes, old, from Boden.
Vetch is a very common plant found all over the world. It's a member of the legume family, which includes broad beans, garden peas and pulse. I's no surprise that archaeologists have found evidence to suggest that ancient people used to eat Common vetch.
I'm wearing my prescription Gucci sunglasses and a new (to me) lipstick from Avon, Ultra Satin Lipstick in Hibiscus, a perfect warm toned pink.
Have you noticed the vetch is very profuse where you live? Or any other wild flowers this summer, in particular? Do tell in the comments. Scroll down below the link-up to find the comments box.
