With #WowOnWednesday
Dear friends. I don't expect many of us wear scarves in the summer - too hot - but I've found a light silk scarf is a great way to elevate the simple outfit of shorts and a t-shirt.
The scarf is a new one from My Season Jewellery & Accessories, in the Spring colourway (not gifted). I wore its predecessor constantly because whatever I wear, provided it's the spring palette, the scarf will tone beautifully.
My shorts (old) are from Roman and the Gabriella top (old) in Apple is from Kettlewell. The fun socks are from Sock Shop. I laughed this week when I read that Gen Z scorn Millennials because they don't wear visible socks. Well I do, and I'm a Boomer. It's good to be on trend!
I love wearing shorts in the summer, either slightly below the knee as shown here, or daringly shorter. Our legs are one of the last places to show our age, so my view is Go For It. More on wearing shorts at any age, and shorts for work.
Recent research showed that men over the age of 50 benefit hugely from a more plant-based diet. And Paul McCartney, 82, looks good on it (still seething that I didn't succeed in buying tickets).
But Mr Mutton is plant resistant, as are a lot of the men in your life I suspect. I've bought this new book by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to see if I can achieve 30 plants in a week in our diet. It's not entirely vegan, there are recipes including fish and meat.
Fortunately Hugh includes herbs, spices and things like olive oil in the reckoning.
Stay tooned for the results!
I wrote about how Kettlewell Colours have introduced colour analysis at their studio. They're now selling swatches for the four seasons. If you have colour analysis, by Kettlewell or one of the other providers, you'll automatically receive some form of swatch book. They're great for helping you to find the right shades when you go shopping.
However, if you were analysed a long time ago, or you didn't receive fabric swatches, you may not have any. Buying them via Etsy or the colour consultants is quite pricey, but these Kettlewell swatches are reasonably priced at £39.
The Kettlewell swatches include all their current colours for each season.
An End to Barcode Lines?
If you're plagued with "barcode lines," as I am - those little lines around the lips that are a sign of ageing - ARK Skincare's Advanced Action Plumping Lip Cream is worth a try (gifted). I'm currently putting it through its paces and will show some pics in a few weeks. I'm not expecting the product to eradicate the lines - that's impossible - but creams can help to plump up our lines, and having better, smoother, lips is also a bonus.
I'm also using Ark's Body Beautiful Conditioning Body Serum (gifted). This is formulated for both body and mind, and I find the subtle scent of essential oils is great for calming the mind before sleep.

I agree with you about link up parties. Such a pity they aren't as populair anymore. I also think and feel, and see on my numbers, that blogging had lost interest by a lot of bloggers. So I'm fully promoting my link up party too and I will share yours from now on too. Plant based..... but you don't mean vegetables then?
ReplyDeleteSure - anything that grows from a plant. Vegetables, fruits, berries, spices, herbs and so on
DeleteI agree with you too. My linkup’s are very poor now with not many additions each week. Love this outfit, the citrus shades are gorgeous xx Jacqui x
