Dear friends. May is an exciting time in the garden. Everything is growing, the gaps are filling, and our magnificent clematis montanas burst into bloom.
I didn't think there was much in flower yet but I managed to get #SixOnSaturday.
I didn't think there was much in flower yet but I managed to find six #SixOnSaturday.
My six: top row, left to right: geranium, pansy - these were planted in September and still going strong, and Allium Purple Sensation. I saw mass planting of the alliums at a garden I visited last year. I planted a lot but hardly any have grown. Perhaps they don't like London clay.
Bottom row: rose Gertrude Jekyll, erigeron karvinskianus (fleabane) and rose Olivia Rose Austin.
We don't usually get a frost in London after April so I've bought a few bedding plants for my containers.
This year I've got my usual purple with a punch of lime (purple petunias with lysinachia "Goldilocks" and bacopa) plus some pink, purple and white combos perlagoniums with ageratum, fuchsias and heliotrope.
What's your garden looking like? Have you bought any bedding yet or do you bring on your own?
The fantastic sites where I link my posts.
Hi Gail, I love the sound of your plant combos! Don't despair of the allium, we planted them in Essex clay - they didn't do much in the first year but have surprised us by growing beautifully this year!
ReplyDeleteGail, I love your garden combos. Such beautiful pairings.
