& #WowOnWednesday
Dear friends. It's survey time! This year we're asking about what's in your wardrobe and we want to see a few numbers. How many wardrobes? How many pairs of shoes? But it's not all frivolous. We're also keen to see how you're buying fashion and how you're disposing of it. Have brands improved their representation of older women in ads and on websites?
The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. It's anonymous, and you don't need a Google log-in. Email addresses are not being collected. The survey will be open until January 31 and the results shared in February. If you get chance, share it with a friend!

Wearing White in Winter
I'm taking part in a month long challenge, #snowwhite, which is looking for white styled for winter. It's proved problematic for many. It seems many reserve white for summer, or don't like it all. I'm happy to wear white all year round.
There are many shades of white, as anyone who's painted their interior white will know. Some of them have a slight yellow tinge. Ivory is one variation. And if white doesn't suit you at all, cream might be a good substitute.
Kettlewell's soft white is another. It's better for the warm toned among us. Above; I'm wearing my best buy of last year, a pre-loved Kettlewell Chloe jacket in soft white. It's so versatile and goes with everything.
Another challenge over at a FB group called Sensational Springs is #newlifeforold, and I've covered that challenge too with this outfit. Result.
This challenge is about finding the pieces you don't wear very often and having another go at styling them. I haven't been wearing the chocolate brown Pippa top, which is sleeveless, so here it's paired with the chocolate ruched skirt to look like a dress. The mimosa scarf and boots, and leopard belt, add some contrast along with the soft white.
New Year, New Fitbit Strap
As you can see, I've pimped my Fitbit. It's easy to do with Fitstraps. They supply straps for all the popular types of fitness tracker - Garmin, Apple, Fitbit and others. I was gifted with this leopard print strap for my Charge 5 - it costs £15.99.
I ordered a Charge 3 strap by mistake so if you have that model, email me now at Isthismutton96@gmail.com and the first verified email address will receive it, brand new, free of charge! Please note, the strap will only fit a Charge 3.
On the subject of white, I used a lot more of it in this outfit:
The skirt is old, from M&S (they usually repeat this skirt in different colours every summer), as are the boots, which are inspired by Shelbee. The essential v neck in Essential Green is from Kettlewell and the spring scarf from My Season.
White ---- do you like it in winter? If you're in the US, do you ignore the "No white after Labor Day" rule? Let us know in the comments.

Last Week's Favourites - Most Clicked
Date Night Dinner and Axe Throwing certainly grabbed the attention. I don't think I'd recommend ax throwing if you and the hubster have had an argument. Not that Mireille and her lovely hubby had, of course.
Michelle's beautifully researched post "How to find your purpose and have fun in midlife ... create your own destiny in 2023" also resonated. Michelle, from blog Fifty and Fab, also had some words of wisdom for those of you looking for love in 2023.

One of our regulars in the link-up is Nylse from Life Notes. I enjoyed her thought-provoking and honest post "What a Year; A Year of Questions." Nylse's wisdom is now captured in a book.
Great stuff. Personally, I'll be avoiding white this Winter, but my 16 year old daughter is right there with you. White joggers and white coat for college this morning!
ReplyDeleteI never wear white. I think I've got one white blouse, that I never wear. I love outfits in winter whites and a white dress in summer, but on others.
ReplyDeleteI really like your first outfit with the brown, yellow and white. Well styled.
