January Blues! Style Not Age Challenge

Over-60s blogger Gail Hanlon in turquoise and yellow

Dear friends. Ah, January. Everyone's favourite! It's cold and dreary; some of us are giving up alcohol or buying clothes; many of us are hard up after Christmas.  So it's not surprising there's a "Blue Monday" when we're supposed to be at our lowest ebb. But here's the #StyleNotAge gang to cheer you up with some colourful blues.

There are many different shades of blue. I like the lighter, brighter shades such as turquoise and aquamarine. I've shopped my wardrobe and am wearing an infinity scarf from Kettlewell in a colour I adore called Aquarius. The M&S jeggings are in what looks like an identical blue colour. Soft white jacket and lemonade top both by Kettlewell.

I've secured the scarf with an ingenious scarf lock from Lock and Shine which gives a tidier look.

My gold boots are from the children's section at Boden (old).  Worth checking out, as the sizes go up to a 6 and children's footwear is much cheaper.

Answering the challenge January Blues, Gail Hanlon from Is This Mutton in light blue, yellow and soft white with gold boots

A bright lippy sets off the colours nicely. Mine is Bewitching Coral by Max Factor.

For the latest Style Not Age Challenge Gail Hanlon from Is This Mutton is wearing turquoise jeggings and scarf with yellow and soft white.

Let's see what blues my friends have found for January. Hilda, from Over the Hilda, below, came up with this month's challenge.  She has found a delightful dress and hat in her wardrobe, and has taken advantage of a blue sky. The dress is a recent purchase from LK Bennett in Kildare Village Outlet. The boots, from M&S, and hat, from Mango, are both old. Her hat is by Irish designer Peelo.

Anna from Anna's Island Style, below, is showing some of her fabulous charity shop bargains. Her jacket and jeans were found last month in Penzance, coming in at £16 all together. The rest of her outfit was shopped from Anna's closet.

Emma from Stylesplash is wearing almost entirely an outfit from Marks & Spencer. She bought the jumper and coat in the recent sale. The trousers were a snip in the M&S outlet at £9.

Meanwhile Jacqui from Mummabstylish is wearing a Zara top that's been reprieved from going to a charity shop, along with River Island jeans Jenerique blazer, silver beads and cream boots, all shopped from her wardrobe. Not forgetting her lovely Michael Kors bag.

I hope you liked our January Blues! Check out more pics on each of the different blogs. We'll be back next month with another challenge, and it's my turn for February.

See you on Wednesday for #WowOnWednesday.
