Dear friends. When Emma set this month's Style Not Age Challenge - Stripes and Dots - I initially thought it was an easy one. But not so. I've been so ruthless with clearing out my wardrobe that I've given away everything I had with dots and stripes!
For me the challenge was complicated by the fact I was at my mum's in Plymouth for most of last week and I'd forgotten to take pictures before I left.
I remembered as we were about to leave, and grabbed my tripod and only dotty piece, a polka dot belt (Kettlewell), with a view to sorting an outfit while in Plymouth. I went to four different charity shops but unfortunately the only striped jumpers had really seen better days, or just weren't in the right colours.
A trip to Marks & Spencer was in order, and there I found this striped jumper (£17.50), which also comes in a green mix. I was also very taken with these black embellished leggings which have a diamantĂ© strip along each leg, making them great for the party season (£19.50). I've given you the direct links, not affiliate links. My mum was glad to see me spending the voucher she gave me for my birthday. My boots are old (Russell and Bromley).
Let's see what my intrepid friends have come up with.
Emma from Stylesplash, who came up with the stripes and dots challenge, has added punchy red trousers to her black and white striped and dotted top half. She shopped her wardrobe for the Coast top, River Island trousers and Adidas Stan Smiths. She found the M&S jacket in a charity shop. Sunglasses by Jeepers Peepers.
Hilda from Over the Hilda has come up with a fantastic colour combination with her stripey jumper (old, Whistles), faux leather trousers Primark (curent) and M&S boots (old). Her hat is from Primark and the spotty/dotty scarf was a present from her friend Sara.
Anna from Anna's Island Style would have been stumped for something stripey but fortunately her daughter gave her these sensational trousers last year. She paired them with a spotty voile sleeved top from TK Maxx. Her Asos brocade boots are also old, but still rather fab. The mix of velvet and voile means Anna is thinking ahead to the festive season - which is approaching rather too fast!
Jacqui from Mummabstylish has put together a great navy, white and red outfit. I love the red scarf, which she says is not her favourite look. I think it adds a lovely pop of red, along with her bag. Her jumper was gifted by Bonmarché and Jacqui shopped her wardrobe for the spotted scarf and white jeans.
I hoped you enjoyed our stripes and dot outfits. You'll find more pictures at each of the girls' sites.
Such great style. I love the stripes and your interpretation of it. https://www.bauchlefashion.com
