Styling a Teddy Blake Bag

Is This Mutton blogger Gail Hanlon with a Teddy Blake Kim Croco bag in green

Dear friends. You may have seen a few of my blogger friends with Teddy Blake handbags. I was thrilled when the New York brand offered me the chance to choose a bag and style it for you.

The great thing about these bags is the way they cut out the middleman.

Designer handbags are pricey because a lot of the cost is funding branding, marketing and and a retail channel.  Teddy Blake bags are made to the same exacting standards, and at the same factories in Italy, and from top quality materials. The difference is they sell direct via their own website, and most of their marketing is via reviews and word-of-mouth. Below: my shock at learning the price.

I decided to go for a green bag and chose the 9 inch Kim Croco. This has gold hardware and a detachable strap. The size is perfect for me as I'm fairly petite at 5'4. This bag is available in several sizes and a staggering 16 colors. It's made of croco embossed calf skin, and the quality is apparent as soon as you unwrap it.

I chose a green and pink outfit to complement the bag. The dress is a few years old, from Studio Preen. The pink boots are my favourites, hunted down on in the internet when I was desperate for a pair of pink ankle boots. To ward off the early spring chill I'm wearing a pink raspberry Rachel moto jacket from Kettlewell.

The bag is priced at $479 US, which is 40% cheaper than an equivalent from one of the usual designer brands.  Teddy Blake also sells a range of accessories to personalise your bag. My only dilemma was which color to choose, but I'm very pleased with the green croco and can see it accompanying me for many years to come!

Disclosure:  I was gifted with a bag from Teddy Blake New York in return for a post. Copy approval was neither sought nor approved. My opinions are as always my own.

If you were looking for a new bag what color would you choose?  And what style - cross body, tote, bucket or shoulder?

Now it's time for the #WowOnWednesday link-up. Bloggers/Instagrammers can find new readers, plus readers can find new blogs to read. I promote my favorite five posts on Facebook and Twitter every week, and feature the most clicked posts in Instagram Stories.

Last Week's Favourites (Most Clicked)

A welcome return from Catherine of Not Dressed as Lamb, whose April Fool joke picture from Instagram was the most popular. I was one of many who thought she really had gone grey overnight at a hairdresser's!

It's the second week an IG post has come top, which is interesting because marketers often assume that women over 45 are not using the platform.

Marsha from Marsha in the Middle intrigued many with her headline "Get a Job."  It certainly succeeded in grabbing attention.  But Marsha is talking about garments which can  perform several jobs, and showing us a delightful tunic which can be worn as a dress or duster over jeans.

I'm so envious I didn't think of this as a blog challenge - asking bloggers for their five top tips for growing a blog.  The Blonde Squad gave their fascinating responses and two were featured in the link-up from Jill of Doused in Pink and Laura from I Do Declaire
