The Style Not Age Challenge prompt for this month was from me, and it's Festive Finery. Thoughts are turning now to Christmas and the various forms of festive dressing required. There are no parties or glitzy occasions planned but I like to dress up a bit on Christmas Day, in a stylish but comfortable outfit.
I've shopped my wardrobe and am wearing a lemon sweater with maribou trimmed sleeves, from Uterque (last seen here), a lilac leopard tulle skirt bought from @devoted_to_style_ on Instagram. The boots are from Amazon. They are a bit too slouchy for my liking but it's nigh on impossible to find purple boots! The tassel necklace is from Etsy.
It was very cold on the day I took the pictures and originally I planned to take them indoors. The conservatory, where I usually take pictures, is largely Mr Mutton's domain as he his PC is here and also his trainer bike (similar to Peloton) which apparently necessitates a powerful fan under the desk. So my interior shots were marred by what East Londoners call his "tut" - or clutter - so I had to dash outside and take photos quickly before my nose went red. The shot below was cropped to remove all signs of tut!
Now let's see what festive finery my blogging friends have rustled up. Like me, they all shopped their closets. Anna, from Anna's Island Style, is wearing a gorgeous top with sequins from New Look. The trousers were a sewing project from a couple of years ago where she chopped the bottoms off of a £1 pair of charity shop velvet trousers and added the beaded flower trims by hand - a labour of love! Those pretty boots were bought from Asos a long time ago.FOR MORE MUTTON
