Welcome to the latest Style Not Age Challenge, set this month by Jacqui of Mummabstylish. Jacqui chose "Jackets for July." After the recent heatwave you may be wondering if jackets are needed in July, but temperatures are often low in the early morning and fall in the evening, so you often do need a light jacket or cardigan.
My jacket is the buttery soft faux suedette of Kettlewell's Rachel jacket in Bright Violet, worn with their Gigi top in Lime (three or four years old) and current M&S ankle skimmer trousers. The necklace is old and was picked up in Topshop. The little mauve bag was a purchase from Accessorize a few years ago.
I took the photos in a grassy knoll in Epping Forest. The grasses have been spectacular this year. As I waded in, they came up to my knees and obscured my shoes (white trainers if you were wondering).
Now let's take a look at what my blogger friends are wearing. Hilda from Over the Hilda is wearing a jacket from a new shop in Malahide owned by a lovely Italian lady who moved to Ireland just before the pandemic. Hilda says she has some lovely unusual pieces, many imported from Italy, and she fell in love with this jacket. The jeans are old Diesel. The mules are Clarks, a few years old, and the top is from another local Malahide boutique, a few years old too.
Anna from Anna's Island Style is showing us a lovely view of boats at her Isles of Scilly home, and wearing one of her favourites, a green Benetton jeans jacket. The white crops are charity shopped and the tee was gifted by Tresco Island. Her trainers are from Zara, but not this season.
Jacqui from
Mummabstylish, who chose this challenge, is wearing in a new gifted linen jacket from Bonmarche that will go with everything: a perfect summer jacket. She has added old M & S wide leg trousers in soft grey with a new chiffon sleeveless blouse from H & M. The white braided mules are from Matalan and her bag from Fiorelle.
Finally Emma from
Stylesplash gives us a characteristic burst of colour and some clever pattern mixing with her Pom Amsterdam jacket, top by Fabienne Chapot and Asos animal print trousers.
I hope you enjoyed our "July Jackets," and there are more photos on each of the individual blogs. I'm back on Wednesday with the #WowOnWednesday link-up and a report on last week's staycation in the Lake District where I attempted a capsule evening wardrobe and minimalist beauty packing!
