Spring Sweaters: Style Not Age Challenge

For the Style Not Age Challenge Spring Sweaters Is This Mutton blogger Gail Hanlon chooses a mohair blend cardigan in green to wear over a green and pink dress, perfect for cooler spring days

It's the last Monday of the month so time for the latest Style Not Age Challenge. This time it was chosen by Anna from Anna's Island Style, and she went for Spring Sweaters.

I've cheated a little in that my sweater is a cardigan. I find cardigans very useful at this time of year.  You can of course wear them unbuttoned, or draped over the shoulders,  and they're great for extra warmth when the weather is a bit chilly. My cardigan is thicker than the usual spring sweater, but with a cold easterly wind this week, the warmth is much needed.

Summer dresses start to see the light of day in spring when worn with a light cardigan or sweater, as Gail Hanlon shows with her green mohair cardigan worn over a dress for the Style Not Age Challenge Spring Sweaters
I bought the cardigan from @Devoted_to_Style on Instagram.  Alison runs an online boutique and models the clothes herself on IG. Buying them is extremely easy and it's nice to be dealing with a small business. I was attracted by the colour and sleeves.  The cardigan is very soft as it's a mohair blend.

The rest of the outfit is all over two years old. The fun bag, which also has some mohair going on (or is it cow hide?) came from The Bias Cut. Boots by FSJ and dress is Studio by Preen at Debenhams. The necklaces came from Etsy.

Now let's see how the other challenge members got on. Irish blogger Hilda from Over The Hilda looks very jaunty in black and white. She shopped her wardrobe for this great look:  sweater from Zara, trousers Top Shop, boots M&S (fabulous!) and one of her trademark hats, this one from H&M.

Anna, whose challenge this is, is wearing a gorgeous vintage Laura Ashley number, found in a charity shop a couple years ago, along with flower sprigged pre-loved jeans and her new Sketchers trainers, bought last year in February when she was last in a shop!

Emma from Stylesplash has chosen pretty pastel shades for her outfit featuring a pale pink spring sweater with half sleeves,  and lime green trousers for a season-appropriate colour combination. She added a fun strawberry print bag.

Jacqui from Mummabstylish has side-tucked her new fine knit jumper from Phase Eight which is a stunning orange. She's wearing it with skinny white jeans bought in Matalan years ago and long white boots from Asos that she received for Mother's Day.

Hope you enjoyed our spring sweaters.  What's your take on knitwear in spring? Do let us know in the comments.  You can see more pictures of each outfit in each blog post.

It's a busy week for Is This Mutton.  I'm back on Wednesday with #WowOnWednesday, and on Friday with the monthly round-up of TV, films, books ad podcasts in Friday Favourites.  Hope to see you then.
