I've often wondered about trying their flagship product, the Specialist Serum, and Regentiv kindly sent me a bottle to try, plus the Invigorating Exfoliant. Now that I've used them for a couple of months, I was suitably impressed to buy a couple more products - the Super Lifting Serum and Neck & Decollete Rejuvenation.
The Regentiv story started over two decades ago when Harley Street Skin Specialist Elaine Thornhill became frustrated with the results of what was then on the market. She set out to create a range of specialist skin care for her patients and surgeons to use both prior to, during and after procedures, to aid skin healing and treat skin problems and concerns.
The products are made in the UK, avoid irritants and parabens, and are Vegan friendly. As is the case in the UK for all beauty products, they are not tested on animals.
Twenty years ago retinol was nowhere near as mainstream as it is today. Now, every dermatologist will tell you that it needs to be part of our skincare routine as we get older. I have tried several different products and my skin tolerates retinol quite well, but I find the higher strength formulations very drying and I don't see much of an improvement. I've seen some women overdo retinol to the point that their skin looks stretched and shiny.
The Regentiv Specialist Serum uses a more gentle form of retinol, retinyl palmitate, and you can use it twice a day. It's fine for all skin types. It's said to improve lines, wrinkles, blemishes, pigmentation and trauma damaged skin.
I have noticed an improvement to my lines and wrinkles, particularly the "crows feet" lines which seem to have appeared in the last couple of years around my eyes. The pigmentation is less pronounced, although to be fair, in winter that is usually the case.
The invigorating exfoliator is excellent for sloughing off dead cells on the body and leaves the skin smooth and glowing.
I'm Impressed
I was so pleased with the results so far that I bought two more products. The Super Lifting Serum contains Topical DMAE, or 2-dimethylaminoethanol, described by one of the world’s leading dermatologists as a “facelift in a jar”. I haven't noticed a lifting effect yet but it's early days for me in using this product. I always say with any new skincare products you have to allow at least three months to see results, although sometimes improvements can be more immediate.
The Neck and Decollete Rejuvenation cream has already impressed me - the results are fairly instant. My somewhat crepey decolletage and wrinkly neck are definitely improved when I use this potion. It has a scent, which the other products don't have, and I would prefer it if it didn't.
Regentiv have products for many types of skin concern and there's a useful section on the website which recommends different regimes. Their products are not just for pro-ageing but address concerns such as acne, sensitive skin and blocked pores / oily skin. I can see myself adding some more products to my regime as it's always more effective to use products from the same brand, rather than risk an overload of the same active ingredients by mixing them up too much.Disclosure: I was gifted with two products by Regentiv but editorial control is entirely mine and copy approval was not sought or given.
