Feeling Peachy

Adding a splash of orange to an all-cream outfit for autumn: Is This Mutton
I did something I haven't done for ages:  a big old blog shoot. I kept yesterday free - no walks or gym classes and no guests for lunch, so that I could take photos of a few outfits to catch up.

I bought this fun peach motif jumper/sweater by Fabienne Chapot a few weeks ago in the sale at The Bias Cut. The rose gold boots are also a new purchase for AW.  The cream trousers are very old. The orange bead necklace came from Eternal Collection.

Rose gold boots and an all-white outfit with a splash of orange in the form of a juicey peach motif

These aren't colours you often see me in. I love an all white/all cream look but it's not a combo that really suits my colouring, except in summer if I pick up a bit of a tan. I think I get away with a splash of orange, whereas if it was an all-orange jumper, you'd see right away that it washes me out.

The jumper's a slouchy style but I haven't applied any of those "tucks." It's a technique that doesn't work well when you have a lot of thick material to tuck.

Trouble with Pinterest

Over the weekend I had to change the settings on Pinterest to make my board Is This Mutton Fashion Highlights private. Normally this is where I share some of my fashion posts. But lately the board has been hijacked by men saving my images to places where I don't want to be. Boards for men who admire "grandmothers" , where some of the said grandmothers are naked and in lewd poses.  Pinterest, for all its benign kindness, doesn't offer you much in the way of being able to block boards like this. You can block a user, but that's all.

There are plenty of men who prey on older women, not for the purposes of romance but for the purpose of "romance scamming."  On Insta I get several "hi dear" DMs each week, often with a photo of a man in military uniform. It's not a compliment and I block and report them - they usually have hardly any following and the majority is looking to build an online romance with a vulnerable woman, and then extort money.

Anyone else had a similar problem with Pinterest? I know a lot of my peers have problems with the men on Insta.

I'm back on Wednesday with another fashion post and the #WowOnWednesday link up.

  1. First, that outfit. You do usually wear bold color so this is a little different. Darling jumper and I like the pop of peachy-rosy color in your booties.
I don't have a lot of unrequited DMs but you are right, many of those solicitors feature a profile pic in a uniform. And a number of my wannabe friends are 'widowers'. Poor things!
