All-Green Monochrome Look - and Link Up

Over 50s style from Is This Mutton: green sequin top worn with green midi skirt from Boden and green snakeskin ankle boots

I'm going through a monochrome phase at the moment where I like to wear one colour in tonal shades. This all-green outfit combines two of my loves, green, and sequins.

Everything is old except the skirt, which is a new season purchase from Boden, and the snakeskin neoprene boots

The coat always gets lots of compliments - it was bought in M&S about four years ago. The sequinned top was picked up in the sale in Dorothy Perkins a couple of years ago.  I've written several times about sequins for daytime, here and here.  Next has a great selection of colours of sequin tops, just £20,  at the moment, most out of stock currently but I think they will restock.

I wore my green ensemble to a lovely dinner at The Gilbert Scott, a restaurant in London. It was for John's birthday celebration with his daughter. The restaurant is beautiful with high ornate ceilings. There will be more in my account of October in Sentence a Day (published first Tuesday of the month).

Wearing all-green gave me the chance to wear eye makeup. I used my Huda Beauty Emerald palette and created quite a bold and sparkly eye, keeping my lip colour pale so that the focus is on the eyes. Click here to see a similar look I created with this palette.

Now it's time for #WowOnWednesday.

Last week's most clicked was Laurie at Vanity and Me, with her post "Berry Tones – Closet London -The Dark Romance Collection."  The gorgeous colours in the long pleated skirt are so well echoed in the jacket and top.  Laurie shows that petite women can easily wear midi skirts.

From this week I'm also choosing my favourite post, and this week it's Australian blogger Donna from Donna Does Dresses with her post Dressing in Black and Animal Print. I love Donna's wardrobe, she has a real eye for beautiful jewel colours and accessorizing.
