I was attending a few intense days of planning meetings at work, and was staying in a hotel for two nights because I live 50 miles from the office and dinners and early morning starts were involved.
Then there was another unexpected dinner invitation so I managed to extend my hotel stay, but unfortunately I hadn't brought any spare clothes. In the lunch break I tore round the shops of Cambridge and finally hit on this silky blouse in Zara (now sold out).
I thought initially it was a paisley print, but having looked up the definition of the paisley pattern, it isn't. Real paisley features the boteh (Persian: بته) or buta, a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end.
I've been wearing it mainly with my black Hope culottes. I have loved these: they're in a high quality Italian fabric and don't crease, and they're elasticated but not in a granny way. They're now in the sale at half price. The blouse doesn't need ironing either, which is a result.
I added some vintage green beads I bought on Etsy, old velvet green flats from Next and my green cross-the-body bag from Uterque.
A pensive look by the shed.
