I've played with the hounds tooth trend by adding a pair of brogues in this pattern, pairing them with patterned dotty pop sox. I am unrepentant about my passion for pop sox (as long as they're only worn with trousers and not skirts).
Chunky pearls and a leopard print clutch finish off the look. Oh, and some red lippy. The shirt comes up quite big: with hindsight I would have gone down a size, because the tie waist could have had a bit more emphasis had there not been so much fabric. I wore a camisole underneath, which you can't see, but when I wore the outfit to work it was a good call because during the day the ties became looser and the camisole preserved my dignity.
Outfit Details
Finery London wrap top; Banned hounds tooth brogues; leopard print clutch, last season, similar; black straight leg trousers.

Many thanks Laurie!
DeleteI love ,,Pied de poule,, as we call the houndstooth print! Fabulous shoes and the blouse is so stylish!
ReplyDeleteI love "pied de poule." What a great name!
DeleteSo lovely, Gail, and I can see that outfit go straight from office daytime to restaurant eveningtime. And yes, popsox work for me too in winter, but I haven't seen anything quite so fancy as your pretty spoties. I cannot abide the thought of tights under trousers. One blogger lady advocates it, but the mere thought of it makes me feel claustrophobic and itchy!
ReplyDeleteHugs and happy week ahead, x.
Definitely agree Mary on no tights under trousers. The dotty pop sox are from Charnos. Have a great week!
DeleteSuper shirt and so flattering.
ReplyDeleteYou've styled well Gail, I really like the strips, and glad they're still in fashion. Love the brogues and pop socks - super idea. x Jacqui

I really like this funky look for the office - a touch of patten play along with fab pearls all lift the conservative nature of stripes and black trousers, fab! Do tell where you manage to find patterned pop socks? I wear them too and fancy ones are a real find.

They're from Charnos, Anna - I tend to buy my socks and tights from online stores like Tights Please.
DeleteLOVE those funky shoes!
ReplyDeleteThe whole outfit is a great twist on classics.
